This item is out of stock

A wonderful example of a snake bracelet from the first half of the 20th Century, c1930s. The bracelet is made from 9ct gold that has been coiled around to form a textured snake body. The piece is marked as 9ct with a patent number and it is not a rolled gold or plated piece. The head and tail of the snake have a lovely faceted detail in the gold giving the idea of the pattern on a snakes skin. The eyes are a vibrant green paste that appear to look at you when he's on your wrist. a lovely example.

    Details:

Materials - 9ct Gold (marked), Green Paste

    Age - C1930s

Size - The head of the snake measures approx 23mm long by 14mm wide taking into account the kink in the head. The bracelet itself is a fairly large size. It would fit most people, though it is best suited to a wrist above 6 1/2" when it would be worn as a loose bangle style. It could also be worn further up the arm on the bicep.

Condition - Good. The bracelet is in fairly good condition with some age related wear. There are a couple of minor splits in the coil, though these are not detrimental to the piece and commensurate with age. There are signs of a repair at the base of the tail, noted for accuracy only.
