• SOLD Vintage Large 9ct Gold Multi Paste Sputinik Pendant

This item is out of stock

A lovely large 'sputnik' charm from the mid 20th Century, dated London 1963. The charm is of a hollow construction and is made from 9ct gold. It is the largest one of these types of charms that I have seen and makes a wonderful bold statement when worn. Studded around the whole of the outside are individually set paste gems aiming to represent turquoise, pearls, garnets and emeralds. They create a great look and the piece is in excellent condition. These kinds of designs became popular during the early 60s due to the fascination with space exploration and the launch of the Sputnik 1 in 1957.

Please note, the chain in the pictures is for display only.
