A wonderful pendant from the late Victorian period, Austro Hungarian in origin. The pendant is a striking stag made out of silver. It has lovely detail to the face and fur of the neck and is enamelled in a soft mustard colour to the front. It has a white enamel cross on the head and has the beautiful decorative enamel on the back that is quite often seen on these types of items. It hangs on a little silver and pearl spacer chain and is complete with the original enamel bail; in this instance it is purple enamel. At the centre of the body is an oval piece of mother of pearl.

Materials - 900 Silver (marked on the jump bail), Enamel, MOP

Age - Late Victorian

Size - 30mm high excluding the bail by 20mm. The bail makes the length 40mm.

Condition - Good. Wear to the enamel. Evidence that the MOP has been glued into place rather than set.
