Antique 18ct Opal & Blue Enamel Ring
A wonderful ring with an unusual design from the late Edwardian period, c1910s. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold and has a fantastic opal at the centre. The opal has an ‘other world’ quality as it has a fairly high dome and plenty of fire and colour throughout. The colour change is phenomenal in many lights and as ever, the photos do not do this beautiful gem justice. Surrounding the opal is a scalloped edge of dark blue enamel dotted with little rose cut diamonds set into the claws. The enamel is in overall good condition with only a little damage to one section. This is not obvious and mainly only visible through magnification. A stunning ring with an unusual design.
