Antique 9ct Gold Ruby & Green Paste Trilogy Ring
A pretty ring from the early 20th Century, c1910s. The ring is made from solid 9ct gold and has a certain handmade quality about it. The simple trilogy design is very striking with wonderful strong claws on each of the settings. To the centre is a green paste stone that resembles green tourmaline and this is flanked on either side by two synthetic rubies. The rubies are a wonderful vibrant pink and they complement the soft green of the paste perfectly. The stones all seem original to the ring meaning that these synthetic rubies are likely early examples of this 'new' (at the time) process. Synthetic gemstones have all the same properties as their natural counterparts, though they are man made. The trilogy setting sits on a plain gold band and the ring can easily be worn alone or in a stack.
