Antique 9ct Mizpah Ring
A lovely ring from the early 20th Century with hallmarks for Birmingham and 9ct, though it is missing its date stamp. It is likely late Victorian/early Edwardian judging by its style. The gold has a rosy appearance, typical of 9ct gold from this period, and the word ‘Mizpah’ is worked into the front. The goldwork is complete with ivy leaves on either end, a sign of everlasting love. This ties in with the Mizpah sentiment as these rings were given as a love token to remind the wearer that whether you are together or apart, you are loved always. This ring has a little wear to the design in the front, which to me, only adds to the charm. It has a lovely low profile and is very comfortable on the finger despite its width.
