A wonderful brooch from the early 20th Century. The brooch is made from solid 15ct gold, marked on the back of the tail, and is in the shape of a parrot. It has the most beautiful and expressive enamel on the front; perfectly coloured to represent the parrot’s feathers. At the centre, the body is represented by a blister pearl, which has a slightly bulbous top allowing the light to play on the surface of the pearl. The enamel is in excellent condition with very little wear and the brooch is perfect worn as a brooch, though it also works very well on a chain as a pendant. The pin to the back has a little keeper mechanism making it secure when fastened.

The chain pictured is for display only.
