Antique Silver Trombone Link Chain, 15"

A wonderful antique chain from the Victorian period. The chain is made from sterling silver and has a perfect long and short link with trombone links alternating with a triplet of cable links. The links have a lovely depth to them and the chain is complete with a dog clip clasp. Hanging from the centre is an original hook, perfect for charms, and a coin at one end with a date of 1787, George III.

Materials - Sterling Silver (tested)

Age - Victorian

Size - The links are around 5mm wide. The trombone links are around 15mm long. The hook measures 33mm long top to bottom and the coin is approx 21mm in diameter. The chain is around 15” long.

Condition - Very good. Some wear commensurate with age and some silver patina left as is. It would be tricky to remove the hook from its position as all links are soldered. The coin could be removed if required as the bail is not soldered here.
