Antique Smokey Quartz Acorn Earrings
A wonderful pair of earrings seemingly made from antique components from the early 20th Century, though they came to me as they are. The main focus of the earrings is a beautiful carved smokey quartz. The quartz has been cut to resemble an acorn; a symbol of rebirth and new life as well as abundance. The acorn drops come to a lovely point and have a beautiful translucent quality. To the top of these is a little carved pale purple amethyst and these hang from 18ct gold hooks with a silver trefoil detail. The fittings around the stones are silver gilt.
These wonderful earrings are a lovely size and make a beautiful statement in the ear with plenty of movement.
Details:
Materials - 18ct Gold Hooks (tested), Smokey Quartz, Amethyst
Age - C1920s, combined antique components
Size - The acorns measure approx 17mm long by 11mm wide. The earrings are 38mm long including the hooks.
Condition - Very good. The amethyst bead facets are a little worn and have very tiny minor chips, noted for accuracy only and only visible through magnification
