sold out

A wonderful and rare locket from the early 20th Century, likely c1920s. The locket is fashioned in the shape of a book and tests as around 15ct gold. It has the Tower of London engraved into the front with a decorative border and a machined sunbeam style background to the picture. To the back there is more evidence of machine pattern and a cartouche at the centre. The locket has three frames within with one folding out on a hinge, also machined to the back of the gold.

The three ovals can be removed to place your own photos inside. The two outer frames have the original glass, whilst the centre panel is missing this, though it still has the frame. The locket clasps firmly closed with a little gold binder to one side and exhibits exquisite craftsmanship. An unusual and interesting locket.

The chain pictured is for display only.
