Art Deco 18ct White Gold Emerald & Diamond Ring
A stunning ring from the Art Deco period, c1920s. These pieces in original condition are becoming increasingly rare as time goes on and this is a lovely example of the style and quality of the era. The ring is made from 18ct white gold and has a beautiful, vibrant green emerald in the centre. This is surrounded by a halo of diamonds, all within a geometric shaped setting, a square with cut off corners.
The emerald is a lovely large size and is truly the focal point of this lovely ring. It has a ‘petit' jardin’ within, meaning that there are some inclusions within the stone. This is common amongst emeralds due to their relative softness and the way in which they are formed. The gem is certainly stable with no surface reaching inclusions and is well protected within its beautiful setting. The cut of the emerald mirrors that of the overall setting of the ring and the setting has almost certainly been handmade to suit the emerald. The diamonds look to be single cuts and are all original. The setting also has a rather wonderful design to the back with a pierced floral look allowing the light to shine through. A truly spectacular ring in wonderful, original condition.
