A stunning bracelet from the Art Deco period, French in origin. It is a classic French tank style and is made from the French equivalent of rolled gold, commonly known as Fix. This is a common type of alloy used in France to make beautiful quality pieces of gold jewellery and involves putting a layer of brass between layers of gold and rolling it in much the same way as English rolled gold. It means that the jewellery does not tarnish too much and maintains its look. This particular bracelet is a beautiful example and is classically French in its design, with an excellent hidden clasp. It certainly looks like the real thing on the wrist and has been made beautifully.
