Art Deco Green Garnet & Sapphire Ring

£750.00

The most stunning and unusual ring from the Art Deco period, c1920s. The ring is made from solid 18ct white gold and has a spectacular green garnet at the centre. The natural garnet appears similar to an asscher cut with its square shape and cut corners, though it has fewer facets than an actual asscher cut stone. It is a lovely large size and the green is the most vivid I have seen. In the wide shoulders, there are baguette cut blue sapphires and the shoulders then taper to a beautiful fine shank. The gemstones appear to be original to the ring. The blue is a wonderful and unusual contrast with the green of the centre stone and this is a striking one-of-a-kind ring.

The ring has had the claws re-tipped expertly to ensure the centre stone is secure.
