Art Deco 'Moths to a Flame' Necklace
A wonderful and unusual pendant from the Art Deco period. The pendant is glass that has been cut into from behind, similar to a reverse intaglio, with a wonderful, playful picture. The picture has a candle within a cage or lantern, with two moths dancing around the flame. ‘Moths to a flame’ is said to symbolise an irresistible attraction to someone or something. A lovely, romantic gift.
The pendant is fairly large in size and will come on the silver chain pictured (shorter gold chain is not included). This is a vintage silver cable link chain measuring around 16”. The chain is approximately 1.5mm wide. The pendant should be worn with a little care as it is glass.
