Art Deco Ruby & Diamond Cluster Ring
A pretty and elegant ring from the early 20th Century, c1930s. The ring is made from solid 18ct yellow gold and has platinum settings, both marked on the inside of the shank. It has been beautifully made with a floral style setting and an interesting geometric design in the platinum in contrast to the softness of the shape. At the centre is an off square ruby with four little diamonds set at North, South, East and West. The other four petals of the flower are an illusion made to look like diamonds. A very clever trick! The basket beneath has been given equal care and attention and this is a lovely quality ring.
The inside of the ring is also marked with a maker, ‘Ronette’. This appears to be a maker that specialises in this sort of style and design during the first half of the 20th Century.
