Art Deco Tiny Enamel Clock Charm
A beautiful and unusual charm from the Art Deco period. It has full English hallmarks and I believe the date is Birmingham 1924. I believe the maker is Cropp & Farr, founded in 1917 and though they are a London based firm, their makers mark comes up under Birmingham makers too. This little charm is very exquisite with a little enamel clock face and a tiny moustache emblem above it. Hanging from the gold clock are the ‘weights’; each one is a little chain and there is a ruby and sapphire at the bottom. Such a pretty piece.
The charm will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.
Details:
Materials - 18ct Gold (full hallmarks), Sapphire, Ruby, Enamel
Age - Dated Birmingham 1924
Size - The clock measures approx 12mm long excluding the bail and weights, by 9mm wide. The whole piece measures around 26mm including the bail and the weights.
Condition - Very good. A little wear to the edges of the enamel clock. The bail has a trace element of lead. I have not replaced this as it appears to be the original and is marked 18.
Weight - 1.8g charm only.
