Early Victorian 'In Memoriam' Diamond Ring

A beautiful ring from the middle of the 19th Century with an inscription including the year 1847. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold and is a lovely elegant shape. It has ‘In memoriam’ picked out in gold letters and surrounded by black enamel. The enamel is fairly worn and damaged in places, though the overall effect is still visible. At the centre of the enamel is a beautiful old mine cut diamond. The diamond is in excellent condition and glistens beautifully in its simple setting. The diamond measures approximately 3.5mm in diameter and is around I colour, VS clarity. It is a beautiful example and matches the elegance of the ring perfectly. On the inside of the shank, an inscription is written with the words ‘W.R.Bush Died March 16 1847’. This is a truly lovely ring with an interesting and unusual design for this type of memorial piece.
