Edwardian 14kt Pearl & Diamond Lavalier Necklace
A pretty and elegant necklace from the Edwardian period, c1915. The necklace is made from solid 14kt gold and I believe it is platinum fronted. The pendant is a pretty lavalier design with two little old cut diamonds set into off square settings. These lead to an elegant millegrain stem with a little pearl at the centre and a larger pearl at the bottom. There is another little old cut just above the pearl and two little rose cuts in the leaves. This gives the drop the look of a little flower. This style of pendant is very true to the era and this is a lovely example. I believe the chain is likely to be platinum too with a replacement 9ct white gold clasp. It is very difficult to test, but is certainly not silver and, therefore either white gold or platinum. Platinum would be more likely for the era.
