Edwardian 18ct Opal 5 Stone Ring

sold out

An absolutely stunning opal ring from the early 20th Century, c1905. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold and is set with five graduated opal stones. It is lovely to only have opals in a ring of this design as often they are coupled with diamonds. The opals have plenty of colour variation and show a full spectrum within their glow. They are slightly graduated in size with the central opal sitting proud in its setting. A truly beautiful ring with plenty of finger coverage.

Details:

Materials - 18ct Gold (tested as the mark is a little lost), Opals

Age - C1905

Size - The central opal measures approx 6mm in diameter. The five opals measure approx 23mm across the finger.

Ring Size - UK O US 7 1/4. This ring could be resized a little, though there is some porosity at the shoulders and this could make it a little vulnerable if sized. As it is, the ring is solid and secure.

Condition - Very good. A little wear to the surface of the opals, commensurate with age. One stone sits a little lower and is likely a replacement. It is an excellent match.

Weight - 4.3g
