Edwardian 9ct Aquamarine & Pearl Negligee Necklace
A beautiful necklace from the Edwardian period, c1905. The necklace is made from solid 9ct gold and is a negligee style with two unequal lengths hanging from the central design. This style became popular in the Edwardian period and is a play on the lavalier. This particular necklace has a pretty openwork floral design with an aquamarine at the centre. Hanging from this are two bars with pearls studded along their length with two aquas at the bottom. The necklace is complete with the teardrop design on either side of the flower and a length of fine chain. This is a classically Edwardian style and the combination of the aquamarines with the pearls is a very pretty one.
