Edwardian Diamond Snake Ring

A wonderful ring from the early 20th Century, dated Chester 1912. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold and has double snake heads that curl around each other at the top. The snakes have little mouths and bobble eyes and the back of each head is set with old mine cut diamonds. The diamonds are around 2.2mm in diameter narrowing to approximately 1.8mm. They follow the curve of the head and this ring is an elegant example of the snake style. It circles around the finger with a double shank and exhibits the wave of each snake tail on either side. A very beautiful ring overall.
