Edwardian Fetter Trombone Link Chain, 15 3/4"

sold out

A lovely chain from the early 20th Century, dated 1904. The chain is made from sterling silver and has a pretty and interesting fetter link. It has elongated trombone style links interspersed with a cable link, which has alternating plain and twisted links. The effect is rather striking and unusual. The chain is complete with two dog clip clasps (one looks more modern than the overall chain, though it is a good match) and a t-bar. Many of the links exhibit the lion passant as does the t-bar. A lovely example.

Details:

Materials - Sterling Silver (marked)

Age - Dated 1904 on the t-bar.

Size - The trombone links measure approx 5mm by 34mm. The cable links are around 6mm wide. The dog clips are approx 19mm long. The whole chain is around 15 3/4”

Condition - Very good. Some wear commensurate with age. Not every link is soldered, though it is secure and this is noted for accuracy only.

Weight - 27.5g
