Edwardian Garnet & Diamond Ring

A wonderful and unusual ring from the early 20th Century, c1915. The ring is made from 14kt gold and has Austrian hallmarks for this. It has a stunning deep pink/red garnet at the centre that has a wonderful depth of colour and is in beautiful condition. It has been claw set in a pierced basket setting of white gold and it is a lovely size measuring approx 8.2mm by 7.5mm making it around 2.7cts. To complete the ring, the shoulders of the shank have five little old mine cut diamonds down either side. They sparkle prettily and compliment the garnet perfectly. The ring has been designed and made with the utmost care and attention to detail and the shank has a lovely ridge detail all the way around.
