Edwardian Opal & Rose Diamond Ring
A stunning ring from the late Edwardian period, c1915. The ring is made from solid 15ct gold and has a delightful opal set in a rub over setting. The opal has a fairly flat blue appearance with a wonderful orange glow. It is complimented by four little diamonds set in a line on each shoulder. The diamonds are fairly random old rose cut diamonds and appear to be all original. One is particularly lovely and sticks up out of the setting a little more than the others. It seems to have been set this way and is secure.
The ring looks very pretty on the hand and the light really travels through the pretty opal. It is so difficult to capture an opal correctly in photos. I would say that the colour is most like the opal when pictured on the hand.
Details:
Materials - 15ct Gold (tested), Opal, Diamonds
Age - Late Edwardian
Size - The opal measures approx 8.5mm by 6.2mm.
Ring Size - UK L 1/2 US 6 This ring could be resized.

Weight - 2g
