Edwardian Sapphire & Diamond Ring
A stunning and unusual ring from the Edwardian period, c1905. The ring is a very traditional design, though it has some lovely points of difference that make it stand out from the crowd. At the centre is a wonderful old mine cut diamond that sits fairly proud of the setting with a lovely high table. The dimensions of the diamond are around 4mm by 3.5mm making it approx 0.3cts. It is likely J/K colour and VS quality. All details are given whilst the diamond is viewed in the setting and are a best estimate.
To either side are two lovely rectangular sapphires with pretty rounded corners. The sapphires are a beautiful blue and have created a stunning look with their alternative cut. The ring is complete with two little round diamonds on either end. The ring has a traditional pierced gallery and is finished beautifully to the shoulders with some carving leading to the main shank.
Details:
Materials - 18ct Gold (marked), Blue Sapphires, Diamonds
Age - C1905
Size - The sapphires measure approx 4mm wide by 3.2mm high. The whole setting sits approx 16mm across the finger.
Ring Size - UK N 1/2 US 7. This ring could be resized
Condition - Good. Some minor wear to the sapphire facets, commensurate with age. One sapphire has a little nibble to the corner. This is noted for accuracy only and I have had to look very hard to confirm this as it is disguised by the claw. All stones are secure
Weight - 2.6g
