Edwardian Silver Chatelaine Coin Purse
A lovely object from the Edwardian period, dated Birmingham 1903 with a makers mark for Henry Matthews. It is a wonderful coin purse with full English hallmarks. The silver has beautiful repoussé work and is rather ornate with a floral design. The purse is complete with a twist clasp and hangs from a little chain with a bail allowing it to be worn as a necklace if desired. Inside, the purse has little compartments defined by stiff textured fabric. Such a piece from the time.

Size - The purse measures approx 43mm wide by 33mm high excluding the clasp and chain. It hangs approximately 77mm long from the top of the bail to the bottom of the purse.
