Edwardian Solid Gold Ruby & Diamond Horseshoe Ring

sold out
A wonderful ring from the Edwardian period. c1910s. The ring has a wonderful horseshoe design at the centre, which is set throughout with beautiful gemstones. At the centre is a vibrant ruby in a rub over setting that has stunning pink undertones. It is eye-clean and measures approx 5mm in diameter. Surrounding this vivid centre stone is a horseshoe of alternating rubies and old mine cut diamonds. The rubies in the horseshoe are a little rubbed, though this does not detract from the beauty of the ring at all. The horseshoe tests as around 15ct gold, whilst the shank tests as around 12ct gold. The ring came to me as is, though it is likely that the shank and the horseshoe are a marriage. Either way, the work has been done expertly and you would be hard pushed to see this.

Details:

Materials - 15ct Gold, 12ct Gold (both golds tested), Ruby, Diamond

Age - Early 20th Century

Size - The horseshoe measures approx 10mm square

Ring size UK R 3/4 US 9. This ring could easily be resized

Condition - Very good. Rubies in horseshoe a little rubbed, otherwise, excellent

Weight - 3.91g
