Edwardian Swallow Circle Locket
A pretty locket from the early 20th Century, c1910s. The locket is made from 9ct gold to the back and the front and has metal interiors. This was a common construction during this period and allowed for a little more stability in a locket. The locket is beautifully decorated with swallows on both side (one with two, the other with one) and foliage surrounding the birds. The design is complete with a decorative border and the locket is in lovely condition. Swallows were a popular motif during this period and symbolise devotion, loyalty and the return of a loved one.
