Emerald Teardrop Ring
A pretty ring from the early 20th Century, dated Birmingham 2014. The ring is marked as 10kt, though it is hallmarked with an English hallmark for 9ct gold (we do not produce 10kt gold in the UK so the closest hallmark is 9ct). It has three pear shaped emeralds claw set across the finger. The emeralds are natural and exhibit ‘le petit jardin’ or small garden of inclusions as you would expect in this gemstone. The pear shapes could be taken to be three hearts or three teardrops. Either way, I love this gemstone shape.
