Georgian 15ct Flat Cut Garnet Ring

£0.00
sold out

A pretty ring from the Georgian period, c1790. The ring is made from 15ct gold and has four lovely flat cut garnets set across the top of the finger. The garnets and their settings are slightly rectangular in shape and the ring is handmade. The ring has a simple split shank that has been made to match on each shoulder, though the shank has been attached slightly differently on each side. This could be an apprentice piece and is simple in its design and structure, whilst being very ‘of the period’. A lovely example, though not entirely in perfect condition (please see condition notes with regards to stones below)

Details:

Materials - 15ct Gold (tested), Garnets

Age - C1790s

Size - The four garnets measure approx 16mm across in total. As an example, one of the centre garnets is around 4mm square.

Ring Size - UK K 1/2 US 5 1/2 This ring could be resized a little. Evidence of a previous resize.

Condition - Good. One of the end garnets has been replaced with a red glass stone. One garnet has a significant chip to one corner (see pics), and the other end garnet also has chips to the surface. The price has been adjusted accordingly and this remains a lovely antique ring overall. It looks very pretty on the finger.
