Georgian 18ct Gold 'L'amitié' Fob

A wonderful and elegant fob from the late Georgian period, c1820. The fob is made from 18ct gold and has the most exquisite gold pattern pressed into the gold mound of the seal. Sitting atop this is a thistle, shown to both sides and ending in a double loop at the top, which also has a pretty ridged design. The fob itself is set with a white chalcedony that has the word ‘L’Amitié’ carved into it. This is the word for ‘friendship’ in French. The attention to detail on this petite fob is very beautiful and it is a wonderful collectors piece.

Size - The base of the fob measures approx 15mm by 12mm. The fob measures approx 18mm high including the bail.

Condition - Good. There has been a repair to the middle of the thistle, evident on both sides and done in antiquity. Not overly noticeable and noted for accuracy only
