Georgian Garnet & Diamond Ring

A wonderful example of this style of ring from the Georgian period, late 18th Century. The ring tests as being made from between 12 and 15ct gold with silver settings. It has a beautiful deep red garnet at the centre with faceted edges. This sits in a closed fluted back and is likely foiled. The shoulders have square silver settings that hold high table, old cut diamonds, reminding me of a peruzzi cut diamond in style. All stones look to be original and this ring is a stunning example, one of the nicest I’ve had.
