A stunning pendant from the late Georgian period. The pendant is made from 18ct gold and has a silver setting as is customary of jewels from this period. It has a beautiful, large clear paste stone set in a pinched collet setting. The paste is in excellent condition with no noticeable nibbles to the facets; something that is fairly rare in a piece of this age. It has been cut in such a way that there is a star in the facets at the centre. It sits in a closed back setting, likely foiled behind, and exhibits a beautiful bright white look. To the top is another little paste stone that likely started life as white, though now appears green.

Paste was highly popular during this period and is a type of reinforced glass used to imitate diamonds. Often, ladies would have their real jewels copied in paste to allow them to wear them out whilst avoiding theft. Imagine the real diamond version of this stunning pendant! This is truly an eye-catching piece due to its beautiful cut and lovely large size.

Chain pictured is for display only.
