An absolute stunner of a piece in immaculate condition. This pendant is from the Georgian period and has bright clear paste stones set in silver and backed with gold. The gold tests as around 12ct and the paste are all original. They are all old cut stones with five larger stones throughout the piece. The pendant has the original ribbed bail and can also be worn as a brooch. Such a lovely statement and in excellent condition.

Paste was highly popular during this period and is a type of reinforced glass used to imitate diamonds. Often, ladies would have their real jewels copied in paste to allow them to wear them out and avoid theft. Some of the paste from this period is so stunning, it has become as valuable as gemstones.
