Late Edwardian Opal Panel Ring

A stunning ring from the late Victorian period, c1915. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold and has a lovely panel design to the top. The panel has a pretty scalloped edge and is set with five fiery opals. The opals appear mainly blue with an orange glow in certain lights. The stones are all set in white gold and have white gold highlights that mimic the look of diamonds. The ring also has a pretty decorative basket to the back. A real looker on the hand!

This ring should be worn with care due to the nature of the settings and of opals themselves.

Size - The panel measures approx 17.5mm by 13mm. The central opal is around 5mm by 3.5mm

Ring Size - UK L 1/2 US 6 This ring could be resized a little.

Condition - Very good. The opal surfaces are a little rubbed commensurate with age. Very minor traces of jewellery glue around the stones, likely as an aid to the claw settings. This is not visible at all when worn and only noted for accuracy.
