Late Art Deco Opal & Diamond Ring

A wonderful and unusual ring from the late Art Deco period, c1930s. The ring is made from 18ct gold and platinum, marked on the inside of the shank, and has a stunning oval natural opal at the centre. The opal has a marvellous array of colours showing blues and greens with an orange glow in many lights. As usual, the photos do not do this wonderful rainbow stone justice. On either side of the millegrain set opal are three diamonds. The diamonds appear to be single cuts and are also millegrain set. The ring has a lovely quality feel and is in excellent condition.

Age - C1930s

Size - The opal measures approx 9mm by 7mm. The whole setting measures approx 14mm by 9.2mm. The diamonds are around 2.7mm each

Ring Size - Uk L US 5 7/8 This ring could be resized.

Condition - Excellent. One diamond has one very tiny chip to the table facet, noted for accuracy only and only visible through magnification
