Opal & Jade Drop Earrings
A beautiful pair of earrings from the early 20th Century. The earrings are likely a marriage, though they are an excellent match and it is difficult to know for sure. They are made from 9ct gold, which has a lovely rich colour and have stunning opals set in a claw settings at the top. Hanging from this setting is a little chain with a jade drop at the bottom. The pale green of the jade and the rainbow colours of the opal are an excellent combination and these earrings look beautiful in the ear.
Details:
Materials - 9ct Gold (tested), Opal, Jade
Age - C1920s
Size - The opals measure approx 5mm in diameter. The jade drops (excluding the chain) are approx 15.5mm long. The entire length of the earrings are 36mm long.
Condition - Very good. One opal has a little surface abrasion, noted for accuracy only and only visible through a loupe. There is very minor evidence of possible lead solder where the claw setting of the opal meets the gold disc of the post. Again, noted for accuracy only and not at all visible when worn.
Weight - 3g the pair
