Rose Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring
A beautiful ring with elements from the early 19th Century. It seems that it is a marriage of two items; the shank is certainly an original Georgian one, whilst the central setting appears to be made in the Georgian style. This lovely central design is mainly silver with a pie crust edge and has a stunning rose cut diamond at the centre. The diamond is in excellent condition with no chips or scrapes and is fairly uniform in the cut of the facets. The light catches the diamond perfectly and it has a wonderful stormy quality. It is set in a closed back silver setting mounted in an 18ct gold domed back. The shank tests as 14ct gold and has split shoulders with a lovely ridged pattern that is fairly faded at the back due to wear, though it completes the ring perfectly. Truly magical.
