Victorian 15ct Turquoise Flower Locket
A pretty locket from the late Victorian period, c1880s. The locket is made from 15ct gold and has a beautiful floral shape, to my mind, reminiscent of a sunflower. It is glass fronted, which would allow the picture to show through in the centre, and is surrounded by a halo of natural turquoise. The back of the locket slips off and is also glass fronted. This would have originally been a hinged door. The hinge is no longer there and the back of the locket fits securely in place. It is important to keep the hinged element in the same place to fit the locket securely. Once in place, it would be best left alone.
The locket will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured. This is a delicate piece and should be worn with care.
