A wonderful small locket from France from the middle of the Victorian period, c1850s. The locket is made from solid 18ct gold that has a rosy tint to it. It has a lovely flower to the front with vibrant yellow gold leaves and a little dot pattern to the back. Inside there is a hinged door with thick bevelled edge glass. Hanging from this petite locket is a lovely intricate gold tassel. The tassel setting mimics the flowers on the front of the locket and has alternating yellow and rosy flowers around the edge. All the tassel fronds are in place and the whole piece is in excellent original condition. The locket is petite, though the pendant has plenty of presence with the tassel completing the look and there is fabulous attention to detail. A wonderful collectors piece.

The locket will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.
