A stunning locket from the Victorian period, with an inscription dating it to 1860. The locket is made from solid 18ct gold and has a black enamel panel to the front with a surround of wonderful pearls. The pearls have such a beautiful lustre with very minor hints of grey and are in excellent condition with no damage to the nacre. At the centre of the enamel panel is a rose cut diamond set cross. The combination of the three elements is very striking and it is in wonderful condition.

Inside is the original glass covered frame that can be removed to place your own photo behind and an inscription for T.R.Williams, Ob. (died) Oct 14 1860, Aet (age) 29. Perhaps a sad reference, though the locket is so exquisite it moves into a new life.

The chain pictured is for display only.
