Victorian 'AEI' Gemstone Pendant

£0.00
sold out

A beautiful and unusual pendant from the mid Victorian period. The pendant is made from 18ct gold and is set throughout with diamonds, rubies and emeralds. The initials are ‘AEI’ meaning Amity, Eternity and Infinity and this combination of letters was often seen during this period. It would likely have been given as a love token, though may have started life as something else, perhaps a brooch? The A is picked out in Rubies, The E in emeralds and the I in rose diamonds. Such a pretty piece with mainly original stones; it looks as if only one emerald has been replaced across the whole pendant.

The pendant will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.

Details:

Age - C1860s
