Victorian Chalcedony Foliate Ring

£0.00
sold out

A pretty and unusual ring from the early Victorian period. The ring has a foliate border that looks Regency in style with bi-colour gold leaves and ‘berries’. The two colours of gold are yellow and rose and this style is very representative of items of jewellery from the 1830s. The decorative top has been mounted on a simple, handmade rose gold split shank. The top tests as high carat gold, likely 15ct, whilst the shank is 9ct. At the centre is a glorious faceted sugarloaf white chalcedony. The faceting of the gemstone to the central point is very pretty and it creates a lovely element of difference for this ring.

The ring has been well loved and this is reflected in the price; please see the condition notes. It should be worn with care due to its age and construction.
