Victorian Coral Horse Head Pendant

A wonderful and quirky pendant from the Victorian period. The pendant likely started life as the top of a stick pin, though it came to me as it is and was likely converted in antiquity. It is made from 9ct gold with silver settings and is in the shape of a horses head, which has been pavé set throughout with natural angel skin coral. The mane is set with seed pearls and the horse is complete with diamond eyes. There is also a diamond in one nostril (one missing) and a little diamond in the centre of its head, between the ears. This lovely horse is such an unusual piece with plenty of character - you’re unlikely to see another quite like it.

The chain pictured is for display only.
