Victorian Diamond Picture Frame Ring

£495.00

A wonderful ring from the mid to late Victorian period, c1870s. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold, marked on the inside of the shank, and has a beautiful ‘picture frame’ design. The frame has silver settings that hold sparkling hand cut diamonds around the rectangular shape. At the centre is a step cut natural peridot. The peridot is a lovely pale lime colour and the combination is very affective. This gemstone is likely a replacement to whatever was there originally, though it is difficult to know for sure what it has replaced. It came to me as it is. The ring is finished with scrolled split shoulders leading to a solid shank.

Details:

Materials - 18ct Gold (marked), Silver, Peridot, Diamonds

Age - C1870s

Size - The picture frame setting measures approx 9mm by 8mm.

Ring Size - UK M US 6 1/4 This ring could be resized a little.

Condition - Very good. The diamonds are little chips and as such do not have a uniform appearance. This, in my opinion, is what gives the ring its charm.

Weight - 3.16g
