Victorian Enamel Cherub Pendant

sold out

A beautiful charm pendant from the Victorian period. The pendant is made from 14kt gold and has a lovely enamel cherub to the front. The enamel has plenty of colour and the cherub’s pensive pose is expressed perfectly. To the back the words ‘Isten Vedjen’ is written on white enamel in a decorative text. This is Hungarian for ‘God Bless You’. The off square placement of the charm is very pretty and the little border completes the piece.

The charm will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.

Details:

Materials - 14kt Gold (tested), Enamel

Age - Mid Victorian, c1870s

Size - The pendant measures approx 19mm square.

Condition - Very good. A little scratching to the gold beneath the cherub’s elbow; perhaps intentional as it is off to one side and acts as a shadow. The white enamel to the back is a little worn at the corners, noted for accuracy only.

Weight - 1.75g pendant only.
