An absolutely wonderful and unusual to find pendant from the Victorian period, c1880s. The pendant has the most beautiful peacock made from feathers and set to a mother-of-pearl backing. The feathers are stunning colours and depict the bird beautifully. There is a plumpness to the breast representing the body of the peacock perfectly. The mother-of-pearl has a luminescence that compliments the vibrant colours of the feathers. This piece has a 9ct gold back with the original bail, suitable for a medium weight chain and has a domed glass front. It is a lovely large size making a bold statement on the neck.

The longer chain is available separately. The short chain is not for sale.

Condition - Very good. There is a chip to the inside of the glass in one small edge area, likely there from first setting as it cannot be felt on the outside. One tiny feather is loose inside, noted for accuracy only and not at all noticeable when worn.
