Victorian Forget Me Not Ring

A wonderful ring from the Victorian period, with a date letter for London 1859 and full hallmarks on the inside of the shank. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold and is a pretty memorial ring. It has a lovely banded onyx carving at the centre, which has a forget me not flower carved into the stone creating a picture in relief. The white of the flower against the black of the onyx is striking and it has been surrounded by natural seed pearls; a gemstone symbolising purity. The outer edge of the setting follows the line of the pearls creating a pretty scalloped shape reminiscent of a flower. The shoulders are beautifully designed to also resemble a foliate look and the ring is in good condition. Initials have been engraved inside, which look to be JH, and the number 95.

This ring should be worn with care due to the pearls and enamel.
