Victorian French 18ct Gold Tassel Earrings
A wonderful pair of earrings from the Napolean III period, circa 1870s, French in origin. The earrings would have been a double tassel pendant and have had hooks added to create earrings. They are made from solid 18ct gold, marked with the eagle head hallmark on the top and have stunning detail in the gold caps with black enamel too. To the base of this, rubies have been set and the tassels swing beautifully from there. The hooks are plain shepherds hooks and marked as 9ct gold.

Size - The tassels measure approx 21mm long including their bail, not the hooks.
Condition - Very good. Enamel is good, rubies have generally lost their facets and are fairly smoothed over, noted for accuracy only.
