Victorian French Decorative Locket
A wonderful locket originating from France. The locket is from the mid to late Victorian period, c1870s, and is made from solid 18ct gold. The locket bears the eagle head hallmark on the jump ring, though this is a little small and worn. The gold is bi-colour with the main bulk of the locket appearing rose gold and the decorative stripe down the centre in yellow gold. This style is typical of French jewels from this era and the design is the same to the front and the back. The locket opens to reveal a hinged glass panel, also typical of this type of locket. A wonderful piece in beautiful condition.
The locket will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.
